This lovely wide brim hat most likely dates to the 1930s, perfect for a garden party! The low crown has a bit of a mushroom shape, and actually extends below the brim to form a curving cap that is deeper in back. The variation between red and white creates a lovely effect. The wide brim is not perfectly circular - it's widest in the front and on the sides, a bit narrower in back. The hat is trimmed with narrow red grosgrain ribbon that forms a cascading soft bow down the right side of the brim.
